What is the best way to tell this story?

It’s a question we’re constantly asking, and these days our typical answer is “check all that apply.”

It might be an interactive visual graphic.

Reporter Renee Umsted made the one above profiling all of the West Dallas schools after reading our story about school openings, closures and consolidations, and deciding she wanted an easier way to understand it.

It might be a bar chart.

Report for America Corps member Michaela Rush made this one to show monthly ridership in West Dallas on DART GoLink compared to Circuit.

It might be a digital walk-through.

Editor Keri Mitchell made one to walk Dallas residents through the process of protesting their property values to lower their taxes. (The deadline to protest is May 15, and until then, West Dallas residents can find free one-on-one expert help at Wesley Rankin Community Center.)
