Dallas Documenters

Public meetings happen almost every day in Dallas. They’re the most regular ways for community members to learn about and influence the civic process. But far too many public meetings occur with no media or public present to document the decisions being made — decisions that shape the policies and systems that impact Dallas residents’ lives.

Dallas Documenters pays and trains Dallas residents to attend and take notes at these public meetings. Those fact-checked notes are then published and shared via newsletter and text, filling the gap in coverage and creating a new public record of accountability that everyone can use and access.
