Plumbing and home repairs

The City of Dallas is providing emergency home repair funds of up to $10,000 per household, both rebates for homeowners who already hired licensed contractors to repaid damages and grants for households who have a family income of 80% or less of the area’s median income. To apply, visit this website, call 214.670.3644 or email hipp@dallascityhall.com.

Up to $10,000 for repair, reconstruction or replacement work on homes damaged in the storms is available through the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas. Funds are limited to households who have a family income of 80% or less of the area’s median income, and the home must be in the name of the person applying. Brother Bill’s Helping Hand is offering assistance with home repairs. Fill out this form with your needs.

Catholic Charities of Dallas are providing assistance with short-term hotel stays, home repairs and immediate needs via this form.

Not My Son has a form to complete for those who need a hotel room or supplies.

Damage assessment

The city, county, state and federal government are trying to assess damage from the winter storm to determine resources needed for families and communities.

City of Dallas residents and business owners who sustained winter storm damage may apply for assistance by registering at DisasterAssistance.gov or calling 1.800.621.3362 or 1.800.462.7585.

Use this form to report all property damage to Texas Division of Emergency Management so Texas residents can get needed disaster relief from FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency.

If you’ve experienced property damage from frozen pipes or other issues, the Texas Department of Insurance has resources to help file a claim, avoid fraud, and report price gouging. Find more information here.

General resources

Anyone needing help paying for rent or utilities going back to March 2020 can apply online for funds with the Texas Rent Relief Program or call 1.833.9TX.RENT (1.833.989.7368).
